Robert Kehrer has a Masters in Genetics and worked for 12 years as a molecular geneticist identifying disease genes via positional cloning and the analysis of very large family pedigrees. He has an MBA and worked for 7 years at Apple managing strategic alliances and driving market strategy in the sciences. For the last 18 years Robert has worked for FamilySearch as a senior product manager in the Family History Library, overseeing the public APIs, managing the development of FamilySearch.org beta, building the search, hinting, the SourceLinker attach tools and the historical records image viewer. He currently identifies and characterizes strategic opportunities and guides delivery of experiences and solutions needed by advanced researchers. As a researcher himself, he has a passion for understanding and enabling those engaged in genealogical research.
