About the meeting:

When telling people about your ancestry, it helps to get their attention when you have pictures/images.
You could be telling this in person, online, in a book, or periodical.
Even if you do not have a photo of the people, you could use images of maps!
Customizing a map image can make it much more interesting. The map then can tell the story of your ancestor/s.
Map images can be customized by adding arrows, words, lines, other images, shading, etc.
You can use your map images just as you do your photo images by
     adding them to your database such as Family Tree Maker or Roots Magic, or
     adding them online to Ancestry, or familysearch, or
     inserting them into a book or article for a periodical, or newsletter, etc.
 At this meeting I will demo customizing maps by hand, with a word processor, and with an image editing program.
You may not have the same programs/applications that I do, but there are strategies and keywords that can be used in other programs/applications.
 There will be time for other questions related to genealogy.
